The CAS CL-5200 is a premium label-printing retail scale featuring a built-in thermal label printer and easy-to-use cartridge system. Flexible Label Printing Options

The CL5200 offers flexible labelling to suit your business needs. For simple use, operators can quickly print a generic barcode label by manually entering a price per kilogram or a fixed quantity — no prior programming needed. Each generic label includes the price per kg or quantity, the calculated weight, the total price, and the packed date. For greater convenience and compliance, individual products can be pre-programmed with product-specific labels that automatically print the product name, price per kg, total weight and price, barcode, packed-on date, and an optional sell-by or use-by date. You can also add extended information such as country of origin, ingredients/allergens (up to 510 characters), traceability data and nutrition information — note that additional details may require using larger label sizes.

Choice of Label Sizes

Two standard label roll sizes are available to match your requirements:

• Medium: 58mm (W) x 40mm (D), approx. 750 labels per roll
• Large: 58mm (W) x 60mm (D), approx. 500 labels per roll

CAS label rolls come with pre-printed graphic templates, and multiple standard formats are included. Using the supplied PC software, you can also design your own custom label layouts. Typical label content can include PLU name, ingredients/allergens, packed-on date, sell-by date, unit price, weight, total price, store name and address, time, PLU number and barcode. Alternatively, you may use blank rolls and create a completely custom design with the optional CL Works Pro software.

Counter Mode & Pre-Pack Mode

The CL5200 operates in two modes to maximise productivity. In Pre-Pack mode, it can be used in the back office or prep area for rapid batch labelling of pre-packed goods for retail display. In Register (counter) mode, it functions at the point of sale for immediate weighing and labelling. The convenient 'Add' feature allows multiple items to be weighed and totalled under one transaction, producing a combined label for easy scanning at checkout.

Pricing Flexibility & Discounts

Operators can enter prices manually using the keypad, select preset PLUs with pre-defined prices, or apply temporary overrides. Built-in discount functions enable manual or automatic discounts based on quantity or time. For example, a promotion could offer 3 lemons for £1.00 instead of £0.40 each, or trigger automatic discounts after certain times of day.

Convenient Tare Function

The tare function allows you to exclude the weight of bowls, containers or trays. Tares can be set manually or stored within each PLU for quick recall during busy periods.

Date Management

Labels can include packed-on dates, sell-by or use-by dates and times to meet food labelling regulations and provide clear information for customers.

Barcode Compatibility

The scale can generate barcodes in multiple universal formats including EAN, UPC, Code 128, GS1, DataBar and Interleaved 2 of 5, ensuring compatibility with most retail cash registers and POS scanning systems. Optional QR codes are also supported.

Non-Weighed Items

For products sold at a fixed unit price instead of by weight, the 'For' function or preset PLUs can be used to enter quantities and print barcode labels, keeping all labelling uniform across your product range.
